| It's
easy to get caught in the trap of always going to the same places in a
particular neighborhood - especially restaurants! With its colorful guide
to nightlife, The Skinny has given me that little push to try
something new!!

Hi,
I noticed your magazine at a coffee
shop on Haight Street (great cover!), took it home and read it cover to
cover! It's great to find a local magazine that covers some of the cool,
creative stuff going on in San Francisco, and really focuses on locals.
I live in South San Francisco and would love to see an issue devoted to
my area - we've got some great little obscure spots that more people should
know about. Looking forward to the next issue!

Dear
Skinny,
Just wanted to let you know that I think you’re what the city has
been needing - a smart, witty and down-to-earth magazine that lets you
in on a lot of cool and creative things happening around the Bay Area
without coming across the least bit pretentious or hipster snotty. Can’t
wait for your Western Addition issue!

Dear
Skinny,
I really liked your Mission issue, except for your story on Luisa. You
mention once at the beginning that her employees and business partners
might not have good things to say about her (and I definitely don’t),
but then you go on to paint a picture of her as this sweet, misunderstood
lady who’s just passionate about cooking. I worked for Luisa –
in one of her many failed restaurants – and can tell you the kind
of person she really is.
She
blamed her employees for the fact that the restaurant was dead night after
night, never thinking that it might have something to do with the fact
that all of her sauces taste the same (not great), or that she liked to
sit near the front window and clean the gunk out of her toenails. I could
go on, but she’s really not worth the effort – I just wanted
to point out that your portrayal of her wasn’t exactly accurate.

Dear Editor, a couple of comments...
A. I loved the interview with our brilliant Micke [Tong] but I kept looking
for the rest of the article! Give us more, we'll eat it up...
B. Will you print an events calendar? A calendar from this zine would
rock!
C. Props to the sushi joint choice - you've clearly done your homework.
Let me know if you need someone to sift through all the unsuspecting restaurants
in the next lucky neighborhood.
Keep it up!
